Ecclesiastes

Who the heck translated this verse: "I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards"?

"For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities, but fear thou God." This verse reminded me of the conversations we had in class about how logos meant word, and how words were seen as powerful.

"Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour." I was excited to read this verse, because my high school orchestra director always used to warn us about not being "a fly in the ointment," and I never knew what it meant until I read it in context.

The verse Dr. Sexson wouldn't want us to see: "of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh."

That's all I've got for Ecclesiastes. It's a short book about how good God is.
