Ruth

The story of Ruth always touched me a little. I thought it was incredible the devotion that Ruth felt for her mother in law Naomi. Naomi herself can hardly believe it; she says "why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?" (1:11).

Another thing I always thought was really cool about Ruth is the issue of maternity in relation to Jesus. Ruth was the great-grandmother of David. Mary was the descendant of David, and she was also the mother of Jesus.
